You and you alone are responsible to tie the lose ends together to end the main plot in a positive way.
LET ME PREFACE GAME BREAKING BUG THAT THE DEV HAS NOT FIXED IN AT LEAST 3 YEARS: Sometimes you just freeze in place. You enter a building, leave, and then you can’t move. You can click, and your stamina goes down, but you can’t move at all. It happens at random at any time of any day, and it means you CANNOT PLAY THE GAME. This is unacceptable, and I regret spending what little money I spared on this piece of trash. I have found this issue fixed (or at least, I have failed to encounter it in the same location since applying this solution) is to run the game in Compatibility Mode: Windows 7. BEWARE THOUGH.
